I complained about this in the wake of Barbara Bush's death, which MSNBC used to lament the lost civility and decency of the Republican party circa her husband's presidency.

(i'll leave it to the more politically savvy among you to debate the specifics of Bush The Elder's evilness, or lackthereof, but to suggest that the Republicans were not toxic in the late 80s/early 90s is obvious bullshit)
