Actually funny you should mention PD there -- there's a great article that just got published last week (I think) in the SF Weekly which is well worth the reading, probably the most in-depth story I've yet seen:

On a side note, drummer Luis Illades actually lived in my hometown for a while and his older brother was a friend of mine in high school. Good folks both! It was hilarious when I found out Luis was *that* Luis in the band, even nuttier when Luis said he remembered me in a high school production of The Music Man. ;-)
