the country by country breakdown on the yougov site is interesting, especially the people I'd never heard of (or the people I'd heard of but didn't realise were such a big deal - e.g. the actress who played the nurse in Goodbye Lenin is the third most admired person in Russia after Putin and Valentina Tereshkova)

The breakdown on the YouGov site of Trump's popularity worldwide is about as strong an argument for nuking America as I've ever seen tbrr.

Probably the only person on the list I actually admire

Malala is quite young, does not hold a position of political power, and is not required to make decisions of state. Admiration comes a bit easier under those circumstances. I'm not sure why you withhold admiration from the Dalai Lama, although it is true he is a political figure with quasi-head-of-state status, not just a religious figurehead, so he has many more chances to make missteps. Politics never mix well with moral authority.
