I'm going to Goa (Cavelossim in Salcete region) for two weeks on Saturday.

Am I making the right decision? What shall I do when I get there?

I have no idea. Enjoy yourself? I'm going to Paris on Thursday. This was actually the wrong decision, but I'll be making the best of it, mainly by eating sorbet.

I hope ur staying in a 4* plus hotel or u can look forward to cockroaches & lizards in ur room! I went to Calangute last year. Nothing can quite prepare u for the level of poverty in some of the areas. Cows milling around & lazing on the beach is cool tho! Sunbathing is always fun if u r white, as the locals try to take ur picture!

I'll be in Panaji for a few days en route to Mumbai after a week or so in northern Kerala. Starting off in Pondicherry then cutting across to the west coast. First trip to India. Excited!

Awesome. Panaji is cool and interesting but you might find it hectic after a while (nothing compared to Mumbai but then Mumbai is incredible). You're just across the estuary from Candolim/Sinquerim beach, which is wonderful. Try and get down to Palolem or one of the other beaches right to the south of Goa as well.

A couple of hours' drive from Panaji there is a waterfall in the middle of the jungle which you should definitely visit.
