This org has been suggested re a dispute I'm very peripherally involved in (I'm not a disputant) and I said I'd find out more if I could about how it works and what ppl thought about it: www.ciarb.org

are any ilxors aware of it? pros, cons, procedures, costs, other comments? The page we were actually pointed to is returning a 404 (lol) and the website manages to be both wordy and not that illuminating -- I have ploughed through many of its pages w/o really getting the info I was after

I am not well informed but is it not more of an accreditation authority than a dispute resolution forum in itself? Anyone practicing ADR can apply to be a member and it regulates the industry in a soft way but would be more useful if you had a dispute with an arbitrator, rather than a third party.

Arbitration is the most regulated form of dispute resolution short of going to court but only works when both parties agree to the outcome. It tends to be cheaper and perhaps less confrontational though. You can find professional arbitrators with chartered institute accreditation and a particular area of specialisation via:

Take all this with a pinch of salt as I got a law degree over a decade ago and have forgotten all the aspects that don’t involve people getting their hands chopped off in comical accidents.
