let's have the debate here. Prior to signing up for subscription services that cap my movie-spending each month, I used to use RT to help guide me towards movies I'd like, but I also didn't purely go by the score, I'd read specific critics' reviews, look at other metrics like the average score, and see if the summarized reviews sounded anything like a movie I wanted to see.
With MoviePass and now AMC A-List, when I'm not footing $12 each time, I care less if I see a stinker, so I don't need it as much.
Also, production companies are starting to shoehorn RT scores into the trailer themselves now, the average moviegoing public sees the score as the end of the discussion, etc.....so what say you?
