On church thread I wrote:
"She = special Xtian belief system entirely self-invented"
Which is plainly nonsense. Korrekt =
"She = special Xtian, belief system entirely self-invented"
Hence punc = not dead

Punctuation ROOLZ. Regardless of what tweaks I throw into the language here or there, I usually stick with the marks as learned.

Yeah, I gots to represent my crew and shout out big for the Chicago Manual of Style. AP style's for suckas, Strunk & White's for worse; stick to the CMoS or I'll put you in a hearse.

(See, cause I work for the house that publishes the CMoS, you understand ...)

I don't know, Nitsuh, do you have FLOW?

Ned Raggett, Saturday, 18 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Don't even know how to put words in the right order nor do I know schpelling of most words more than 2 syllables long so how would I know how to punk-wait?

Regularly abuse it, but as Tony Oxley said to me years ago, "Tha's gotta learn t'rules before tha can break them. Lad."

Marcello Carlin, Saturday, 18 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Marcello - while searching around for a record to play I read your post above. It inspired me to put on Oxley's '4 Compositions for Sextet' - Oxley, Derek Bailey, Evan Parker, Paul Rutherford, Kenny Wheeler, Jeff Clyne - they don't make 'em like that anymore blah blah...

This is a roundabout and clumsy way of saying that you're in my thoughts and I wish you both well...

'Puncutation' doesn't concern me (it might if I knew what it was), but people who can't S*p'e`a:k and S,p;e.l;l have me reaching for my Texas Instruments.

I use too much punctuation. If my sentences are long, I pepper them with every pause. A salad of semicolons, a casserole of colons, and just a dash of hyphens. But parenthases (sp?) are my wooden leg!

I try lately just to keep my sentences short. Hopefully, I can get rid of this problem.

Punctuation = classic. That doesn't mean I am good at it though. My editor has moaned.
