Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Wednesday, 6 November 2002 13:54 (twenty-three years ago)

Southampton. As my old PE teacher put it, "Someone has to."

He supported Stoke, by the way.

Mr Swygart (mrswygart), Wednesday, 6 November 2002 13:56 (twenty-three years ago)

Liverpool, jesus Michael this cycle of agreement must end. Say something bad about Lazy again.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 6 November 2002 14:54 (twenty-three years ago)

i don't like jon carter.

michael wells (michael w.), Wednesday, 6 November 2002 14:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Killian - what happens when Man Ure play Southampton? Apart from the scummers winning, obv.

FTR, I support AFC Wimblydon, Engerland (with patronising colonial attitudes to Wales and Scotland), Celtic, St Pauli and higher rates of income tax.

I don't support Proposition 49.

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 6 November 2002 15:00 (twenty-three years ago)

That's just unacceptable.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 6 November 2002 15:02 (twenty-three years ago)

carter or proposition 49?

michael wells (michael w.), Wednesday, 6 November 2002 15:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Carter of course, I'm not sure about prop 49.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 6 November 2002 15:11 (twenty-three years ago)

DB: not NTFC anymore?

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 6 November 2002 15:13 (twenty-three years ago)

I must make a confession Tim. I realised that whilst I was pleased that NTFC beat Luton 3-0 this weekend, I did not know who that they were playing Luton until I saw the score come up - the basic ritual of knowing in advance who you had coming up this week had gone. Which I found telling, and wasn't the first time this season.

I was watching Nationwide League Extra (extra to what, exactly?) and saw the goals from the Luton game, and felt a twinge, it's true. But not enough. I am a traitor.

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 6 November 2002 15:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Haha and you the one saying that the board goes, the management goes, the playeing staff goes, but the fans remain....!

I can sympathise though, it's a horrible colour. Also, I don't much care about Morecambe any more (they were never more than my 3rd team anyway).

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 6 November 2002 15:25 (twenty-three years ago)

I know. The deep dark secret at the heart of SD. Keep it a sekrit.

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 6 November 2002 15:41 (twenty-three years ago)

Glasgow Celtic.

david h (david h), Wednesday, 6 November 2002 18:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Good to see another Celtic supporter.

I want to hide a prediction of a result in this thread. Next week, when we play Blackburn, I have reason to believe that Blackburn are going to go 2-0 up. Celtic will then score (which would put us through on away goals). This will all happen before the 75-80th minute. I have no idea what will happen during the remainder of the match. Hopefully nothing.

Of course, if this is wrong, this thread will have disappeared into the archives. But just you wait and see...

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Wednesday, 6 November 2002 18:21 (twenty-three years ago)

Portsmouth F.C

DJ Martian (djmartian), Wednesday, 6 November 2002 18:30 (twenty-three years ago)

"Killian - what happens when Man Ure play Southampton?"

United are my first team, so I'm up for them (and no, it's not just cos they generally win these matches). I got into Southampton because I had a great admiration for Le Tissier as a youth. If Southampton needed points more than Man Utd, I'd consider being up for them.

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Wednesday, 6 November 2002 18:50 (twenty-three years ago)

Sheffield Wednesday on a life long, yes I know they're shit level.

Liverpool on the level of actually liking football, but knowing deep down I'm not likly to be able to watch Wednesday on tele for many years.

And Burscough on the very local small league, being able to afford the ticket prices side of things.

Celeste (Celeste), Thursday, 7 November 2002 00:21 (twenty-three years ago)

Celta de Vigo (in theory)

gabriel (gabe), Thursday, 7 November 2002 00:24 (twenty-three years ago)

sydney olympic, the reigning premiers in the australian league. olympiakos in greece, who've won six consecutive national titles but can never seem to get past the first round in the champion's league. big follower of the english premier league too but not attached to any club per se - my loyalties tend to vacillate according to where the aussies are playing, so i guess i'm taking more of an interest in leeds, middlesborough, birmingham, man city and blackburn more than any of the others.

angelo (angelo), Thursday, 7 November 2002 03:21 (twenty-three years ago)

how long til the cubs blow out mark prior's arm?

keith (keithmcl), Thursday, 7 November 2002 03:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Palestine! Yeah! I support the guy whose car had a sticker (not that car stickers are a good thing normally) that said "Ultra liberal social democrat and fucking proud of it! No to religious mythology, no on question 2".

I also support AFC Wimbledon, Torquay United, Hampton & Richmond Borough, AC Venezia, Italy, England, Scotland, Ferrari, Minardi, and my best friend in his attempt to become a Conservative MP. Sigh.

Mark C (Mark C), Thursday, 7 November 2002 13:50 (twenty-three years ago)

keith: They won't. It's Dave Duncan and the St. Louis Cardinals who specialize in that.

felicity (felicity), Thursday, 7 November 2002 19:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Bristol Rovers. Since becoming an Eastender, living walking distance from West Ham's ground, and since they're a nice team with some players I really like, and since they are three divisions above Rovers and on TV regularly, I have tried to adopt them as a second team, but it's not really taking, much.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 9 November 2002 13:21 (twenty-three years ago)

I expected this thread to be about financial support.

nathalie (nathalie), Saturday, 9 November 2002 13:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Manchester City, and I loved it when we beat them.

Tag, Saturday, 9 November 2002 15:11 (twenty-three years ago)

The Yankees.
