I generally would not have clicked on an architecture thread but then I saw who started it and was not disappointed upon being reminded of the name of this style, which I naturally love beyond words. And which, yes, I also just generally think of as 'Kirbytecture'.

i'm only interested in architecture when it looks like it was drawn fifty years ago by an irascible wwii vet

Hey bg, if you haven't before, do a quick Google image search for '70s orange'. One of my favorite rabbit holes wrt interiors that scratch the same itch as Neo-Andean exteriors.

that itch is scratched every time i travel on the glasgow underground (also known as the 'clockwork orange'), where a typical seat looks like this

I want to live in a pinball machine!

The London Transport Museum has some furniture, cushions made out of tube line fabric. I've wanted something in the orange and brown of the District Line but it's pricey.

I think this sofa could keep vampires away.

'This print is not one which is used on the transport system, however it is a fun and welcoming print for the home.'

It does my heart good to witness such celebration for an aesthetic which I love but which seems to make a smoldering ruin of most people's ocular cavities.

This stuff was like my guiding star back when I was still actively doing any illustration/design work (and I think precisely what inspired Matty P. to have me whip up the old 'neon eyesore' version of Fluxblog).
