Would it? Who'd play Torquemada?

MarkH (MarkH), Thursday, 7 November 2002 13:23 (twenty-three years ago)

i think it would be good if Nemesis and the other warlocks were created using cgi.

MarkH (MarkH), Thursday, 7 November 2002 13:24 (twenty-three years ago)

It could be ok, I guess. A younger, less dead Rod Steiger might've been a good Torquemada.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Thursday, 7 November 2002 13:27 (twenty-three years ago)

Courtney Love as Candida?

throw in Deadlock and the A.B.C. Warriors and you've got my vote - i thought Hammerstein looked great in Judge Dredd

blueski, Thursday, 7 November 2002 13:35 (twenty-three years ago)

comic book movie adaptations i'm currently looking forward to:

Alien vs Predator (tho i dont expect it to follow the Dark Horse series much if at all)

Fantastic FOur (can you imagine how great this could be? the fx would be the best yet with Reed's stretchy limbs, entirely CGI Ben and the kid who's name i've forgotten who sets himself on fire...i'm not sure its actually going ahead yet but i'd rather see this over Daredevil AND The Hulk)

blueski, Thursday, 7 November 2002 13:38 (twenty-three years ago)

NO IT WOULD BE AWFUL. ugh, you have reminded me of the photo story they did.

Alan (Alan), Thursday, 7 November 2002 13:38 (twenty-three years ago)

Haha, I remember the photostory too, and how much it sux0r3d. Think abt the Judge Dredd film, that was a bit lame, but not as bad as it might have been I suppose. Probably a Nemesis film would be the same.

Spiderman has convinced me that these super-hero adaptations CAN still work...and the FF being a team of four means it has a slightly different angle on it than SPidy/Batman/Hulk/Daredevil

please god no Captain AMerica tho

blueski, Thursday, 7 November 2002 13:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Freddie Prinze Jr. wants to do a Captain America movie! This will be classic, I might have to relegate Showgirls to the second best movie ever.

Nicole (Nicole), Thursday, 7 November 2002 13:58 (twenty-three years ago)

ARGH my eyes. Nicole, why do you torment the innocent by sharing news like that? YOU HAVE DESTROYED MY FLOWERLIKE LIFE NOT ONCE BUT TWICE. (I guess the first time was the Justin T. love.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 7 November 2002 15:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Alan is OTM. they would probably get Pat Mills evil twin to write the script so it would be full of shite about KHAOS and not full of people chasing each other down tubes. They would do the warlocks using CGI which would make them look shite and unrealistic like all CGI things. And they would do the classic comics-adaptation fuckup of overcooking the pot by bringing in the ABC Warriors.

god, it would be so crap.

B-but... Yoda...

koogs, Thursday, 7 November 2002 17:11 (twenty-three years ago)

yeh, Yoda! and who cares if CGI looks less real at the end of the day - as long as its made clear that its not supposed to be OUR reality the thing is set in...in fact i wish more effort should be made to make the CGI look unreal and technically incorrect (think more Anime and cartoons in general rather than attempting photo-realism)

having said that, the entirely CGI dinosaurs in all the Jurassic Park do actually look totally real, as do the creatures in Lord Of The RIngs - it just seems to be Star Wars where the problem really occurs for some reason - apart from Yoda!

blueski, Thursday, 7 November 2002 18:09 (twenty-three years ago)

Nemesis would be a rotten movie, I expect. And we've had an FF one, by Roger Corman - one of the worst films ever made. Another would probably have a larger biscuit allowance than Corman's whole budget, though.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 9 November 2002 13:18 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah it would be rub. What about a straight-to-video Slaine movie though?

Tom (Groke), Saturday, 9 November 2002 13:33 (twenty-three years ago)

obviously a big budget adaptation of Chopper: Song of the Surfer would be the BEST THING EVER.

thom west (thom w), Saturday, 9 November 2002 15:51 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm holding out for an adaptation of Mean Team.
