I know this is just kind of footnote in the larger craziness, but it's a great example of the way closed information systems can generate their own pseudo-reality, and the consequences when that collides with actual reality. It leads to the president of the U.S. asking the president of Ukraine to investigate something that never happened, involving entities with no actual connection to Ukraine.

This kind of stuff makes me paranoid that the actual reality will also turn out to be false, even though I know better.
