i kind of think this is the best-case scenario at this point? i mean the idea that all of these militaristic fascists will suddenly come to their senses and say "Oy vey, what was I thinking?" is pure liberal fantasy at this point, right? i don't want to see anybody killed... whoops, too late, i guess. these folks are determined to have their armed uprising one way or another, and instead of the steady drip-drip-drip of a right-wing massacre every couple days i'd kind of like an end to it.

There are a lot of people who don't like DT. Afaict a lot of them are like yr coastal NPR / Whole Foods demographic. Not well armed. People of color, recent immigrants, LGBTQ+ individuals? Also, largely not well armed. Their idea of political action is a strongly worded letter to the editor, or a petition presented to the school board.

Sure there are some lefties with the capacity for righteous violence but not enough, imo, to foment a hot civil war. I just don't buy it as a serious possibility.
