i liked this piece, honest labor. he was invited to be a visiting artist in the vancouver area by the art school here and one of the universities (SFU - my employer). instead of doing regular stuff like workshops and talks etc. he just dug a trench in the ground every day from 8-5 in an empty lot that was arranged for his use

I like some of Mapplethorpe's more extreme photos and Catherine Opie's cutting self-portrait, but they are enough for me until I become more evolved
