i just put a links toolbar in my browser and a 'ile new answers' link in it (among others). i have been enjoying this - there's a N.A. link on my screen at all times, and i don't have to navigate thru my bookmarks. i had been ruluctant to use a links bar because it's that much less space for the page display window, but it has been well worth it.
i think yr idea is good though
there's always 'home' and 'end' instead of scrolling

i still do a lot of 'back' and 'refresh' because i can do it all with the mouse
