i am reading robert fulfords triumph of the narrative,and he claims scott was impt. as a sentimentailst and a spectaclist, one of the most impt, because of what he wrought (ie airport fiction-from grisham to the left behind) and sentimental amwkish fiction, what do you think-also talk about his aesthics

lukacs talks a lot abt scott: and is i think fairly pro him (i find lukacs unreadably dry, so this may not be korrekt)

i think i wd disagree somewhat w.fulford -> scott is important also in the establishment of children's gothic, which is the submerged 9/10ths of the iceberg
