Weight loss pills that seemingly don't leave you twitchy and paranoid like the phet-based ones of old.

Anyone used them? Do they work?

They're only supposed to be used for obese people but would they work on normalsized folk who fancy sharpening up their cheekbones in time for those xmas parties?

they work by suppressing the appetite. anything that alters a normal bodily function in that way bothers me.
and the woman on the ad here is irritating.

actually im just in a crappy mood. they may be very helpful to some people.

"they work by suppressing the appetite."

REDUCTIL works by supressing the appetite, Xenical works by reducing the amount of fat your body absorbs.

Yeah, Reductil does some weird stuff to the serotonin in yer brain, making you feel full after only eating a bit of food. And Xenecil makes you shit out about 30% more fat than usual, leading to (and I quote) 'oily stools', which sounds fucking disgusting.
Also, I read that you can only expect to lose about 10% of your bodyweight over a few months. That doesn't sound so great to me as I'd only lose a stone but heck, it's better than

Has anyone on here tried either of these? Which sounds best for someone who wants to lose a stone or two to achieve that sexy ashen-faced junkie look? Am I putting my body/mind at any serious risk?

What is the POINT of diet pills if they are not amphetamine based? Come, me and my "sister"s teenage goth lives would not have been the SAME without cheap, legal speed. Amphetmine Based Diet Pills Made Me The Person I Am Today (except, clearly, for the ass.)

why don't you just put more fiber in your diet?

canadian_spackski (canadian_spackski), Tuesday, 12 November 2002 17:01 (twenty-three years ago)

cos round these parts food ain't food unless its fried, drained then fried again, ya get me?

I can't believe no one else has gone the Reductil route, you know you can buy it easy off the net for about £100 a month? Say, £300 and you too can look like your fave scrawny pop star! Meself, I'm goin for Vini Reilly.

two months pass...
I can't believe how expensive Meridia is outside of Canada. I'm on it and it costs me $103 CDN for 30 10 mg. capsules (about 42 British pounds). More people would go on it I think if it were more reasonably priced. It works well. Xenical SUCKS, unless you like having your underwear stained with what looks like the grease that collects at the top of a pot of chili that's been sitting for a while! I lost almost no weight on it, which isn't surprising since I've never really eaten a high fat diet.
