There doesn't seem to be a dedicated thread for Netflix's She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (SPOILERS!)

Because we just finished the fifth and final season, and goddamn! No series has made cry this much since Steven Universe! And it turned to be even more pro-LGTBQ than SU was... I knew showrunner Noelle Stevenson is gay and they already introduced a pair of supporting queer characters (Spinnerella and Netossa) in the first season, but they really went there with the final one, right? And it didn't come out of the left field like Legend of Korra's similar ending, it was right there from the start, they just brought the subtext into text. And the general themes of the vicious circles of toxic personality traits, growing past them, accepting self-love as well as the love of others, it was just beautiful! Quite an achivement for a reboot of a spinoff of a toy marketing cartoon, I think.

Indeed it is. I was a bit disappointed it ended only after 5 seasons (or actually 4, as seasons 2 and 3 were really just one season split in half), but OTOH the dramatic arc was done really well with no needless padding. Each season raised the stakes higher, and when you got to meet the ultimate bad guy and his army at the end of season 4, it makes sense for the next one to end with the final battle against them.

I guess the last lines of the finale sort of left the door open for a possible sequel series, and of course there's several unanswered questions left (like the fate of Angella or the remaining First Ones), so who knows?

Revive! Cos everyone should watch this if they already haven't.
