it's kinda funny how dramatic it is. whereas, my best friend and I had a falling out a year ago that was the level of "I'm never talking to you again", and she had moved to another state. and even then neither of us defriended each other, and I secretly checked to see how she was doing until one of us caved and we were friendly again.
