Okay, maybe I'm late to the party... but I dig it. Not quite ginger beer, but definitely more bite than the regular stuff. Good with whisky, too.

I tried this and didn’t get it. Still too sweet for my taste.

the jingle for Canada Dry's Cranberry Ginger Ale boasted that it was "NOT too sweet"

i will have to try this bold
Does anyone remember 7-Up GOLD? Sort of a failed phony ginger ale. Like when a bartender is out of ginger ale but won't admit it, and just mixes coke & 7-Up together.

Tbf my favorite mixed drink in the world is still a wheat beer with orange juice. No pulp in the oj though, pulp makes it weird.

Tomboto otmo
it’s still a bit sweet but, having had a number of ginger ales and now-ubiquitous ginger beers, it’s an improvement on the canada dry classic
the original, non-bold variety is kind of odd to me in that it has nearly no ginger bite whatsoever, but gets this non-spicy... mustiness? that ginger has
lots of fond memories of sipping it in my youth, even if many incidents were when I had a sour stomach

I assume it's similar to the Schweppes Dark Ginger Ale that we had (still have?) in Canada like 6 years ago or so.

have not seen this canada dry bold around anywhere

it’s probably a product that says canada but is only in the US? idk

I also saw a Canada Dry ginger ale/lemonade blend, but I haven't bought any yet. Probably good with whisky as well.

A truly interesting mixed drink I tried a really really long time ago, that sticks in my mind, is Yukon Jack and Mountain Dew. The result tasted like cream soda. I think I only had one because even at that young age I knew such a concoction would be dangerous in multiple ways.

This is more on topic because Yukon Jack is Canadian.

Ayayaya, my fillings hurt just thinking about it. Conventional wisdom states that you don't mix sickly-sweet with sickly-sweet. But I'll withhold judgement until I try this concoction. Plenty of ice might make it work.

The Moscow Mule has a somewhat farfetched origin story, most probably apocryphal: a dude had a truckload of limes and ran into somebody at the bar who had way too many copper mugs.. then a salesman approached who was trying to unload some ginger beer, as well as somebody else who was trying to get Americans interested in drinking vodka. If anyone can verify this tale, I'll buy you at least one Moscow Mule.

the story was spread by a vodka salesman who had some role in the origin, so while it may have some basis in fact, it’s also a funny tale that sells vodka
