Goober was not taken into account, poll is invalid.

I use my daughter's Dora the Explorer spoon if I'm making it for me, and I use my fingers if I'm making it for her.

Knives of any kind are not allowed in my household.

knife knife

I only eat that kind of peanut butter that spills oil all over your kitchen counter. Very sorry I forgot about Goober. Also forgot the squeeze-tube varieties.

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

I just think that knives have spreading abilities a little bit beyond that of spoons. You don't need it for jelly, of course, but depending on the thickness of your pb, a spoon will just give out on you.

does the KONG peanut butter for dogs/pour chiens taste like human peanut butter?

superdeep borehole (harbl), Thursday, 1 October 2020 00:53 (five years ago)

Knife for both, unless the jelly is almost empty, in which case extract and place jelly blob with spoon then spread with knife.

Hans Holbein (Chinchilla Volapük), Thursday, 1 October 2020 01:00 (five years ago)

Spoon for the PB obviously because after the spreading there must be a second spoonful shoved into my mouth. I like a peanut butter appetizer with my peanut butter sandwiches.

Never go mouth to jar though. I'm not a barbarian.

Knife for jelly.

Sounds like a lost 90s alt rock band.

Devilock, Thursday, 1 October 2020 06:47 (five years ago)

Why would you use anything other than a spoon for jelly?

Knife for both where possible.

Hot mango chutney makes a good alternative to jelly or jam.

Spoon for adding peanut butter to stir fry. & I tend to get meridian by the tub.

Marmite peanut butter with a knife.

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

System, Friday, 2 October 2020 00:01 (five years ago)

Wow, that was decisive and not at all the results I had expected! I grew up in a knife for pb, spoon for jelly household. Guess I'd better start getting into knives.

📺👁️ (peace, man), Friday, 2 October 2020 10:03 (five years ago)

Omg I was the sole spoon/spoon vote. My wife convinced me there's no reason to use a knife for scooping or spreading, you just use the back of the spoon. I don't think we've ever used the butter knives in our house.

Also I routinely have a small spoonful of peanut butter as a snack (maybe with a little salt).

my wife insists we keep peanut butter in the refrigerator so it's usually too hard to use anything other than a knife

five months pass...

I've been forkin' it on there lately, and I have to say, I could get used to this.
