What is Trump’s absolute worst trait?

All right, let’s hash this out. What’s the most awful thing about this truly loathsome and vile monster? I managed to narrow the list down to what I think are his 50 worst traits.

I may have managed to forget several terrible things about him; if so, feel free to name your “other” choice in this thread. I just couldn’t narrow it down any further to leave space for an “other” option.

lot of choices but I think it's that he's managed to hijack all political discussion for the past 4 years

Dan S, Saturday, 14 November 2020 02:35 (four years ago)

Not being stillborn

Some dads are not YOUR dad (Old Lunch), Saturday, 14 November 2020 03:32 (four years ago)

the worst thing about Donald is that often times after having a bowel movement he fails to thoroughly wipe his rear end

the burrito that defined a generation, Saturday, 14 November 2020 03:34 (four years ago)

dunno if that's tactlessness or childishness or what

the burrito that defined a generation, Saturday, 14 November 2020 03:36 (four years ago)

I honestly believe Donald Trump is one of those galaxybrains who does not think that other people are real. That's why he doesn't give a shit about the Covid death toll or how many people in the White House he infects. When his brother died he was silent on it for a few days and then put out a statement like "you know, he was really proud of me".

Write in for "Incompetence"

Outside the staggering ability to bring out the absolute worst in others, a complete inability to focus or execute on anything of substance.

Why this is the worst: hundreds of thousands dead before their time.

Con: If he had executed on this or any of several other things on remotely competent ways, he likely would have been re-elected and turned the country solidly towards authoritarianism.

fajita seas, Thursday, 26 November 2020 02:05 (four years ago)

He cares too much. Also, he's his own worst critic.

Ape Hole Road (Boring, Maryland), Thursday, 26 November 2020 02:06 (four years ago)

he doesn't do Mondays

Lover of Nixon (or LON for short) (Neanderthal), Thursday, 26 November 2020 02:09 (four years ago)

Mesmerism

anvil, Thursday, 26 November 2020 02:11 (four years ago)

I don’t know if I really buy the whole “he would’ve won had he been remotely competent” thing. His disapproval rating has always been at 50% or higher. I know we talk a lot about how his base won’t leave him no matter how much he fucks up but the inverse is probably true too

frogbs, Thursday, 26 November 2020 02:16 (four years ago)

This is probably painfully obvious, but the fact that you can create a list of FIFTY character faults and Trump embodies all of them to large degrees, like he’s a poster child for many of them, makes him pretty uniquely awful in my lifetime.

Three Rings for the Elven Bishop (Dan Peterson), Thursday, 26 November 2020 02:17 (four years ago)

His butthole emits an incessant squeal like someone pinched the end of a deflating balloon.

You will notice a small sink where your sofa once was. (Old Lunch), Thursday, 26 November 2020 02:19 (four years ago)

I know it’s not the “right” answer but I voted for crybaby, that’s maybe the single thing that’s most pathetic about him and most baffling about the fact that anyone, let alone millions of Americans, worship him. Just the constant whining and throwing pity parties for himself when he’s the most fortunate person on the planet

Evans on Hammond (evol j), Thursday, 26 November 2020 02:30 (four years ago)

stinky

superdeep borehole (harbl), Thursday, 26 November 2020 02:38 (four years ago)

You make a good argument for crybaby! Not the most dangerous or harmful trait but certainly one of the most baffling.

epistantophus, Thursday, 26 November 2020 02:39 (four years ago)

Write in for "Incompetence"

nah this is his best trait actually, you want someone with his priorities/"values" exhibiting *competence*?

it bangs for thee (Simon H.), Thursday, 26 November 2020 02:40 (four years ago)

Actually the more I think about it the more I feel like a “competent” Covid response would be one of the few things he could do to lose his diehard supporters

frogbs, Thursday, 26 November 2020 02:41 (four years ago)

Didn’t vote for it but I have kind of a soft spot for “villainy” here. When he’s not just completely focused on enriching and benefitting himself, it’s like he tries to think of the most evil thing he could do to harm others, and does that. Often for what seems like no reason! And he has a lot of what I would consider “henchmen”, rather than appointees or whatever.

epistantophus, Thursday, 26 November 2020 02:47 (four years ago)

The malignant narcissism encompasses many, if not most of these, and likely also prevented him from addressing his own racism, sexism, authoritarianism, etc.

As someone whose life has been seriously adversely affected by someone with another of the cluster B personality disorders, the narcissism is like the Nuremberg Trial assessment on wars of aggression, it differs from other flaws "in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole."

Advanced Doomscroller (Sanpaku), Thursday, 26 November 2020 02:52 (four years ago)

His worst trait is what he inspires in others

I want to change my display name (dan m), Thursday, 26 November 2020 02:53 (four years ago)

He's a perfectionist and works too hard.

Ape Hole Road (Boring, Maryland), Thursday, 26 November 2020 03:02 (four years ago)

His trollishness is like a meta-awful quality that amplifies all of his other awful qualities. It's never enough to just be the worst ever in every conceivable way if he can't subsequently take a sneering, tittering jab at the people his shittiness already affects adversely.

You will notice a small sink where your sofa once was. (Old Lunch), Thursday, 26 November 2020 03:14 (four years ago)

Egotism. It's the closest thing listed here to his lust for fame which is what caused him to run for Prez. Without it he'd just be some skeevy real estate douchebag. But "neediness" would be a better option.

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Thursday, 26 November 2020 03:32 (four years ago)

He cheats at golf. That's pretty pathetic.

mirostones, Thursday, 26 November 2020 05:15 (four years ago)

Lack of empathy stood out strongly for me. He's never come close to trying to relate to how normal people feel whatsoever.

Mr. Cacciatore (Moodles), Thursday, 26 November 2020 05:18 (four years ago)

Well spake, Old Lunch. You nailed it. He does "amplify" his overall odiousness with his "sneering, tittering jabs." I weep for the ~40% of our voters who are okay with his shit-on-a-shoe omnipresence.

Pre-Isis (FlappyPants), Thursday, 26 November 2020 06:23 (four years ago)

Voted narcissism, but would have preferred sociopathy as a voting option.

mike t-diva, Thursday, 26 November 2020 08:55 (four years ago)

Correct answer.

I can dig these results. My favorite part is that 50 didn’t even cover it and I missed several legitimate ones. Also, lol Neanderthal.
