No way, not if there's no change for him to get behind a mic and bloviate.

soaring skrrrtpeggios (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 17:53 (four years ago)

chance

soaring skrrrtpeggios (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 17:53 (four years ago)

Close to no chance. I'm guessing he'll arrange for something that he hopes will steal some attention away. (It'll kill them, but I'm also guessing CNN will reluctantly stay clear.)

clemenza, Tuesday, 17 November 2020 17:55 (four years ago)

I hope he attends strapped to a board and masked a la Hannibal Lecter.

You will notice a small sink where your sofa once was. (Old Lunch), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 17:58 (four years ago)

That'd be a perfect bookend to Dick Cheney as Old Man Potter at Obama's.

clemenza, Tuesday, 17 November 2020 17:59 (four years ago)

$10 several news outlets besides FOX will split-screen the inauguration and whatever bedshitting activity of Trump's.

Patriotic Goiter (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 18:08 (four years ago)

how is this even a question

frogbs, Tuesday, 17 November 2020 18:57 (four years ago)

Will Trump to attend

nashwan, Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:00 (four years ago)

Harry Trump to attend.

Boring blighters bloaters (Tom D.), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:01 (four years ago)

President Donald Trump will whine and gripe and taunt and sneer and claim the election was stolen every day from now to Jan 20, but he will attend the inauguration of Joe Biden, looking sour and aggrieved every minute of it. He may pointedly refuse to shake Biden's hand.

the unappreciated charisma of cows (Aimless), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:18 (four years ago)

i'm sure he'll swallow his pride and step up to do the honorable thing, difficult though it may be

turn the jawhatthefuckever on (One Eye Open), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:24 (four years ago)

seppuku?

peace, man, Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:25 (four years ago)

Of course not lmfao. He will watch it on TV

flappy bird, Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:25 (four years ago)

nah I think what Alfred said is correct, he's gonna schedule some dumb, undercooked TV event at the same time where he reveals some bombshell about a new, even bigger Hunter Biden laptop

frogbs, Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:27 (four years ago)

He will be live ragetweeting

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:28 (four years ago)

All caps from now til the grave

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:28 (four years ago)

i've been observing the guy pretty closely for a while now and one thing ive noticed is that he loves sharing the stage at huge events honoring other people

turn the jawhatthefuckever on (One Eye Open), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:29 (four years ago)

its like an addiction, he cant get enough of it

turn the jawhatthefuckever on (One Eye Open), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:29 (four years ago)

he loves sharing the stage at huge events honoring other people

I agree. The inauguration will be the biggest event on television that day no matter if he attends or not. If he sits on the stage, he'll be on camera in front of tens of millions. It is also a chance to act out his petty grievance in the most public and visible venue available. He'll be there.

the unappreciated charisma of cows (Aimless), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:33 (four years ago)

Trump could sell MAGA knighthoods and have the first ceremony at Mar-a-Lago on Inauguration Day

onlyfans.com/hunterb (milo z), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:35 (four years ago)

sorry i was being sarcastic, no fucking way in this or any other universe he'll be within 1000 miles of an event thats about how another person is better than him

turn the jawhatthefuckever on (One Eye Open), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:38 (four years ago)

He can't upstage Biden if he's 1000 miles away.

Boring blighters bloaters (Tom D.), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:47 (four years ago)

He absolutely won't show his face there.

scampo-phenique (WmC), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:51 (four years ago)

He will stalk behind Biden on the stage.

longtime caller, first time listener (man alive), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:54 (four years ago)

In seriousness I would bet no. But if he does he will surely make his hammy disapproving frown every time he's on camera.

longtime caller, first time listener (man alive), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:54 (four years ago)

One Eye Open otm, this isn't a venue where the spotlight and mic will ever swing his way, so of course he won't fucking attend. He doesn't wanna be on TV unless he's the center of attention.

soaring skrrrtpeggios (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:55 (four years ago)

Y'all are discounting the thrill he could get from ruining Biden's Big Day by standing up and huffing away halfway through the oath or standing up and screaming ATTICA repeatedly

onlyfans.com/hunterb (milo z), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:59 (four years ago)

Close to zero, as I said above. But: I'm sure as the day approaches, many people will be hard at work trying to make him see the bigger picture--how awful this will look as time passes, no matter how much it endears him to his cult and how much it feels right to him. (Not that it won't look awful the day of.) He's not really a big-picture guy, but maybe something will click at the eleventh hour.

clemenza, Tuesday, 17 November 2020 20:03 (four years ago)

the guy doesnt even always show up to debates when hes campaigning, why would he show up for something where he had nothing to gain

turn the jawhatthefuckever on (One Eye Open), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 20:07 (four years ago)

Would the Secret Service be able to march Trump away if he becomes too disruptive? At any rate, I suspect Trump will retreat to Mar-a-lago for Christmas (if not Thanksgiving), and for some poorly explained reason not come back to DC.

Infanta Terrible (j.lu), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 20:08 (four years ago)

I could definitely see him pulling some kind of parallel stunt to try to steal ratings, that seems like it would be his style.

longtime caller, first time listener (man alive), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 20:09 (four years ago)

i think he will. can we start a pool on this lol

Amy #Kony Barrett (map), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 20:10 (four years ago)

lol, yeah he'll have his own inauguration for his stolen election! #stopthesteal #nomasksrequired #mybodymychoice

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 20:11 (four years ago)

The more melodramatic outcome involves him not being there, but the melodramatic outcomes rarely ever play out. Everyone gets worked up and all the attention seekers on twitter swarm to take advantage of the hype, but like anything else, reality will not deliver.

Evan, Tuesday, 17 November 2020 20:13 (four years ago)

Trump will not show up, but the media will rush to point out that Biden *also* didn't show up to counter-inauguration ceremony held on the same day

I was wrong. Oh, so very wrong about this.

no fucking way in this or any other universe he'll be within 1000 miles of an event thats about how another person is better than him

I'm big enough to admit that I was wrong about this. Mar A Lago is only 995 miles away from DC
