Uh...

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 19 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Can we make you bake cookies?

Tom, Sunday, 19 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I taught my cats to dance around like little monkeys to con tourists for change, but you'd have to pay to see that.

No, I am lying. I cleaned from 8 am on, went for a bicycle ride by the NY harbor, then did fuck all with the rest of my day...

I was too lazy to cook. We had eggs and are waiting for the simpsons to come on.

I burned to CD the final mixes of eight songs for a recording project called Mashcat: Mashroom Haircat. Then I went with my two flatmates to a weird french restaurant in Daikanyama in which everyone sits in beehives shaped like the cells of a carmelite monk. It was very expensive and the food was so tiny I could hardly find it on the plate in the cave-like gloom. At least it wasn't locusts. (I hear trendy restaurants in London now serve insect dishes.)

(He goes to expensive Tokyo restaurants modelled on monks' cells = he *is* Nathan Barley.)

Momus i point you to the Pulp song Dishes.
My domesticity has its rewards.

I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and was absolutely delighted by the scroll with the Twelve Songs of Ox-Herding on it. Spent the rest of the day in the car home listening to Velvet Underground & Nico, "Pygmalism," "Lady of Shalott," and "Expectations" repeatedly. (That's six hours.) Came up with a justification for not writing a story today, for which I am not sure whether to feel proud or guilty.

Tomorrow will probably involve laundry and starting on the horrible boring time-consuming paper I have to write.

Lyra, Sunday, 19 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Though "Dishes" is indeed grand and wonderful, I find the irony of anybody directing Momus to a Pulp song terribly amusing. Then again I should talk, I'm off tomorrow night to see...RADIOHEAD. And the Betas and Kid Koala, so it should be a great evening. I don't know if that particularly entertains Anthony, though.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 20 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Anthony, how do you wish to be entertained? I have a selection of stories, some ridiculous, some scandalous. I also have a repertoire of games that are not very fun, but they sort of keep you occupied. I only know one joke and its sort of juvenile, but if you are desperate I could tell it to you.

Go here and download all the MP3s released by MC Hawking, renowned physicist and rapper.

I just sneezed on my computer screen, I hate when that happens, little rainbow blobs over the screen. It's like when you sneeze when eating rice krispies. (this is entertaining with witty observation :)

jel, Monday, 20 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Do tell stories, rainy.

Lyra, Monday, 20 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Entertain Me eh? There once was a a band called The Charms. Their blond bassist had a thing for Alex James and pokadotted bisected cow man...

I might be able to dig up slash Sloan stories if you want.
