What did you catch up & go deep on?

I've watched the show lost almost in its entirety in the last 14 days, having never seen it before.

I watched 8 season of law and order: criminal intent.

rewatched the wire for the first time since shortly after it ended.

I've listened to hundreds of hours of Grateful Dead

Whiney listened to every John Zorn album.

We started watching early-aughts anime InuYasha, which is much better than we all expected. Not binging tho.

During Covid I read the complete Love and Rockets.

Watched all the David Lynch.

I watched the entire series of "justified."
Season 2 was the peak, unfortunately.

I listened to every episode of internet radio show Time Crisis. Started with recent episodes late last year but decided to go back to ep 1 in March, and there are 135 episodes that are two hours each, so you do the math.

Would like to make clear that I listened to 0 hours of the Grateful Dead though

binged sebald novels for a few weeks, which means i read two back-to-back

I listened to lots and lots of things recorded in the 1930s including watching all the good Marx Brothers movies, and Ken Burns' Jazz and the 1890 TV series Hollywood. Also read / listened to Ulysses and a number of other much less daunting books (plenty of Wodehouse and Agatha Christie included, neither of which really seems like reading). As the year ends I am on a few histories of WWII, books and documentary series, will get those done by March I hope.

Friday Night Lights start to finish in about a fortnight

not really a binger but I did listen to all the Beatles’ records over the course of a week cause I got the stereo vinyl box for a gift

I tried to get through the whole ecm catalog in chronological order on Spotify but got burned about by about 1978 and so my pace has slowed down

Strangely I don't think I've listened to any more music than normal this year, maybe even less

Watched s03 e03 of the Sopranos

It was "Long Term Parking" in season 5 that really got to me. I had to stop watching for a while after that

I read the entirety of Infinite Jest, something I never thought I would actually accomplish

I watched 10 seasons of Criminal Minds

Seasons 1, 2, 3 and 7 (IIRC) of Stargate SG-1, of which I am a mostly unrepentant enjoyer.

1 and 2 of Stargate Atlantis which one or two episodes aside was a fuckin' drecky slog.

All 2 seasons of Stargate Universe which was much better than I expected it would be and I was sad it was cancelled even though that was ten years ago.

All box sets picked up in the summer for £6.

I don't know how I watched so much TV last year. Probably the most impressive one was watching all of Clone Wars, especially given how many episodes are not very good. I don't usually like to put TV on in the background, but some of those episodes are definitely best as background TV

lol, I binged all of Clone Wars in 2020 but before the pandemic even started.

I've watched something like 40+ pre-Code talkies (and a smattering of silents) and counting over the past year. Depression-era entertainment is tailor-made for our depressing era, as it turns out.

Detroiters is a gem for all of you who loved I Think You Should Leave . Binged it in the waning days of our CBS+ subscription.

A deep DC Silver/Bronze Age Omnibus rabbit hole this summer, mostly Adam Strange, Doom Patrol, Justice League, and The Flash.

What I’ve learned is that each album has one track that’s so damn annoying you want to write off the whole record (e.g. fill her up) but they’re otherwise really solid

I am not a Sting fan myself but there's nothing wrong with going AC! I run through the Basia discography at least once a ear, keeps me grounded and humble.

I'm not much of a binger really, and lockdown didn't change that. But I did watch through all of Adventure Time, something I've wanted to do for quite a while. Got a fantastic blu-ray box set for seasons 1-5, while 6-10 were only really available on a streaming service with the episodes out of order (and several missing, so gaps had to be filled by less legal means!), so that was a bit of a pain, but worth it in the end.

I should really try to get back in Dark Shadows. Might take me a while to remembeer where I was.

Not that anyone asked, but my favorite stretches of Dark Shadows would be

1. The 1897 timeline (eps 700 to 884)
2. The Dec '66-Mar '67 run, which includes the abduction of Victoria Winters, the Phoenix storyline, and the climax of the Burke Devlin revenge storyline (eps 114-200)

I think I'm somewhere in the 600s - I remember a werewolf storyline starting.

I need to pick up with episode 506 and somehow watch through to the end ... or maybe I should skip around the timelines and then go back to those pre-Barnabas episodes
