Someone stole my journal and now I am sad

I went down by this secluded bit of the river with my friend. She accidentally left open the passenger's side door to my car. While we were gone, someone took my bag. It had a little money, my best bra, some 8mm blank tapes, none of which I care at all losing. But it also had my journal.

I guess it wasn't really a journal, as I never wrote anything personal in there. It was a very large pruple sketchbook that I'd drawn a lot of great pictures in. I'd written all my favorite poems in it. Friends had wrote/drew meaningful things in there. I'd glued in all my favorite pictures and made some neat collagey stuff. I had spent about a year on this book & it has 300 pages. I'd almost completed it, there were maybe only 50 blank pages left. I loved that book. I looked at it every night before I went to sleep.

Now it is gone and I feel so rotten. It's like having my first pet run away, such a sick and hollow feeling. I'm worried about whoever has it. I hope whoever nicked it is at least enjoying it. But I live in a conservative town and I had some things, i.e. Hans Bellmer drawings and such, that might really upset someone. I keep imagining someone just burning it or something similarly awful.

A lot of the poems I could re-transcribe, but the things I put in there, or more importantly to me that friends did, are gone forever.

I'm not mad at my friend but she thinks I am. She doesn't want to talk to me. It's silly!

I don't know why I'm posting this, really. I'm just down. Maybe you guys could send me neat pictures or drawings or such, and I could start a new book. I could e-mail you my mailing address.

I always have a notebook on me, and i am scatterbrained. I have had a score stolen or lost . I am convinced that there is a masterpeie on every page.

I'm really sorry. That'd be crushing. I throw out everything in my room periodically except for my writing. I hope your new one works out.

I hate losing stuff, I get quite sentimental over certain things, so you have my sympathy.

That is sad, I feel sad for you. I hope whoever has your book at least has the sense to fall in love with it, it sounds so good.

I have a really fucking miserable story to tell ... until I was 18 i wrote and wrote all the time in journals, anyway then I had a crazy horrible boyfriend who used to go through all my stuff and if he found something he didn't like, he would terrorise me about it. So he found my journals and really scared me. Then I hid them in the MOTOR OF MY CAR and he found them and same deal. So I drove to the railway tracks and hid them in a plastic bag in some long grass where I thought no-one would ever go. When I went back a couple of days later they were gone. I still remember exactly what I was writing about in my journal before then. It was about bacteria and a weird guy I saw in the carpark. I completely lost interest in writing after I lost those books.

I used to write poetry, and kept it all on the computer foolishly believing it would be safe there. One day as my s.o. was cleaning out some of the files, he "accidentaly" wiped out the one containing all my writings.

It pretty much put a stop to my poetry writing altogether. Then again, that's probably a good thing.

actually that was just a parable in which the cruel boyfriend represented the sterility of modern pleasure

six years pass...

I really fucking hate the person who stole my camera...it meant so much to me, and now it's gone and i feel like i lost my best friend.
