Does anyone want to give this a go? It kind of sounds like fun.

What would be the right move for a column? You want to see me shake my ass about Roman stuff, it defies belief.

You suck wink.

naked as sin (naked as sin), Wednesday, 13 November 2002 23:48 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't dance.

They say it's like writing about music.

My drunken pirouettes describe the new bus shelters we had installed.

As soon as I learn flamenco I won't mind being homeless. I won't be bored all night.

I sometimes write.

Pet Shop Boys did it a couple of years ago on the Nightlife tour. Zaha Hadid designed the sets (they looked very Zaha Hadid ie white and quite pointy). Actually, PSB being PSB, they didn't really dance very much but they had dancers and they danced about architecture

Certainly someone here remembers when Laurie Anderson explained how square dancing made this possible, because apparently it was traditionally performed around a barn.

"IT'S GEOGRAPHY!"

this is a really good idea. Has anyone ever actually tried it?

DV (dirtyvicar), Thursday, 14 November 2002 13:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, the choreography of space, man, making a virtual space with your moves, enclosing your partner etc. Also see the role of nazi troops in Speer's 'Cathedral of Light'.

I am planning to offer my 'erotic gherkin' dance at the Focus Group in an hour or two.

six years pass...

At the Cold War Modern exhibition at the V&A (might still be on, we went over Xmas) one of the exhibits was a video advertising Russian towerblocks in the 1950s that LITERALLY featured lots of young Russian people dancing, and also singing, about architecture.

Scruton, who received a knighthood in 2016

Alma Kirby (Tom D.), Saturday, 3 November 2018 13:44 (seven years ago)

begs the question: how much scrotumy has gone into such plainly bad decision-making.

Scruton’s talks are such fusillades of inaccuracy and outdatedness, such bombardments of fake non-news, that it’s hard to know which errors to confront first. In his two recent talks he falsely claimed that Nicholas Hawksmoor’s masterpiece of Christ Church Spitalfields was nearly demolished in the 1970s and that Denys Lasdun, architect of the National Theatre, ran the Cambridge University school of architecture. He also misattributed one of Vienna’s most famous buildings, which is not what you expect from an alleged world-leading authority.

good piece on Scrotum, and his tendency for half-truths, non-facts and outright talking shite.
