I've sent out details of this Saturday's live focus group to anyone who asked about them and hasn't said elsewhere they can't come. If you wanted details (or want details but didn't say) and haven't got them then use this thread to ask me about it.

For anyone else who fancies voting, the ballot will go up on FT on Sunday.

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 14 November 2002 11:45 (twenty-three years ago)

I see no reason why Rebecca can't come.

(though I bet she can)

Graham (graham), Thursday, 14 November 2002 12:29 (twenty-three years ago)

Well pass the details on, then, Graham. She's more than welcome.

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 14 November 2002 12:35 (twenty-three years ago)

Graham, does Melissa know that you're flirting with Rebecca?

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Thursday, 14 November 2002 15:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Well, I've still got to keep Bec sweet, because she is next in line if me and Mel split up, though I do also have Petra as a backup if that falls through. It's all been thought through, don't worry.

Graham (graham), Thursday, 14 November 2002 16:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Graham you dog.

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 14 November 2002 16:08 (twenty-three years ago)

graham do you like momus

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 14 November 2002 16:11 (twenty-three years ago)

I should probably apologise to everyone I'm engaged to/have proposed marriage to, shouldn't I?

Graham (graham), Thursday, 14 November 2002 16:14 (twenty-three years ago)

And to those of us you haven't proposed to. I for one feel very slighted.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 14 November 2002 19:27 (twenty-three years ago)

Tom - sorry, I've sort've missed the details on this. I can't make the afternoon sesh, but are there any plans for an evening FAP?

Andrew L (Andrew L), Friday, 15 November 2002 10:26 (twenty-three years ago)

ditto. afternoon unlikely, evening, more likely

gareth (gareth), Friday, 15 November 2002 10:29 (twenty-three years ago)

Afternoon yes, evening no. I turn into a pumpkin. I'm just being silly.

jel -- (jel), Friday, 15 November 2002 10:36 (twenty-three years ago)

I would imagine there'll be boozing afterwards yeah though a lot of us will be fairly sozzled by that time anyway so a meal might be on the cards too. Pete and I had further pop plans but god knows if we'll carry them out.

Tom (Groke), Friday, 15 November 2002 11:54 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm off to see rock music after the focus group ends! Rar! Depending on when we finish I could easily deal with a curry...

Sarah (starry), Friday, 15 November 2002 12:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Is "under pressure" by David Bowie and Queen in the focus group? That is my favourite song today. I am going to Smiths to buy a notebook now.

jel -- (jel), Friday, 15 November 2002 12:02 (twenty-three years ago)

NB everyone should make up a suitable punne or word play around a "certain phrase" just in case [hem hem] the missy elliott song should turn up. i have already done this and it will knock you sideways with it's advanced levels of hilariousness. alternatively the word "hein?" may be employed...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 15 November 2002 14:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh, um, no thanks, I wouldn't have anything to say and I'd feel out of place, previous times I'd been listening to loads of pop radio and I knew all the tracks and I thought I had opinions on them but I still couldn't think of anything interesting to say and it all turned into "7/10 'sa'right innit" in my head and this time round I haven't even been listening to the radio or paying attention to TOTP or the charts (no real reason, I go in phases). I mean, if you're going to have a clueless rockist who hasn't heard half the songs before there, then it should at least be someone who will rant entertainingly. And all the usual reasons, although less so for a Saturday afternoon. Have fun, and I look forward to reading the results...

No Rebecca, the correct passwords are: "'s not as good as the last one" and "it sort of drifted over me" ;-)

Marcello Carlin, Friday, 15 November 2002 16:51 (twenty-three years ago)

more marcello. I'm taking notes here.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Friday, 15 November 2002 16:55 (twenty-three years ago)

I've written all my controversial comments in my notebook "hmmm, it's worthy pop"...

jel -- (jel), Friday, 15 November 2002 18:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, it was great. I couldn't think of much to say. Sorry to haraass you Rebecca.

Graham (graham), Saturday, 16 November 2002 23:14 (twenty-three years ago)

I had a great time! It was an extremely well-crafted event, Tom, and you worked the equipment well and it had a proper structure and everything. Focus Group VII = Avril Lavigne for the [insert degree-type adverb] deluded = 10/10.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Sunday, 17 November 2002 17:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Would have liked to have come, but it wuz my Birthday and I had to eat cake, receive presents etc. 41! I'm catching you up, Martin!

Dr. C (Dr. C), Sunday, 17 November 2002 20:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Not fast enough. I request you to have two more birthdays before next June. Happy birthday anyway! Did Vic Godard deliver your cards?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 18 November 2002 00:39 (twenty-three years ago)
