Starting this thread because I’m watching Bullitt for the first time today and couldn’t find another comparable thread.

The first time we see McQueen in Le Mans is when he gets out of the Porsche and the camera pans around him for a minute while he looks at something in the middle distance. I can't imaging a movie doing that today, no matter how big the star.

I don't know his movies all that well--I've seen four or five--but based on that, the guy who played McQueen in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood seemed spot-on.
