The Ultimate Thread

An ad just announced that the Sunday Times is to have the result of the ultimate examination. I hope the students among you are all pleased that there won't be any more.

Can I propose a law that any company advertising the 'ultimate' anything is banned from ever releasing another one afterwards?

(Yes, petty grammatical pedantry, I know...)

Everyone to thread.

The ultimate thread would either be about something EVERYONE can agree on, or NO ONE can agree on. And given ILM's rep, Britney should figure in some way.

ever Thread EVAH isnt the ultimate thread?

I will see your pedantry and raise you one. Due to an ambiguity in the construction of the phrasing, it would seem to be permissable to interpret "ultimate examination" as meaning that the examination had attained its final form, rather than meaning it had been given its final administraton.

The ultimate thread is where we have a thred on vice magazine (oh wait...).

I have a song called "the penultimate malfunction", it's about a robot that keeps breaking down, and then one day realises that the next shutdown could be its last. It's sort of an SK-1 soundscape. There is a part two, but that's called "the something something", and describes a robot heaven.

haha 'the something something', i like it.

I liked the Ultimate Warrior, and The Ultimates (written by my 'discovery' Mark Millar) is a terrific comic.

I meant 'The Ultimate Thread' as meaning 'the thread about the word ultimate', obv.

Aimless's extra pedantry is accurate, but if the exam has a final form, everyone will soon know exactly what it is, and it will no longer function as an exam in anything like the traditional meaning of the word.
