Funk Brothers Film

Entitled 'Standing in the Shadows of Motown', the surviving Funk Brothers now have their own film. According to the BBC, no one has ever heard of them. Many people recognise Marvin Gaye, but not his favourite guitarist, James Jamerson. I scoffed at this until I realised that I only knew the names of three Funk Brothers, all of whom are now in the great snakepit in the sky. Also they are very striking names, so I might be cheating anyway. According to the Guardian, the guy who played electric piano on 'I Heard It On the Grapevine' died the other day, which I thought was sad news. So a film seems like a good idea to me. Has anybody seen it? What do you think? Good idea? That kind of thing...

I haven't seen it, although this may in fact be the first ever film based on an instructional book for bass guitarists.

It's gotten a bit of press, and apparently there's some reenactments in it. Hopefully it will come to Atlanta so I can see it.
