I was somehow even more obnoxious in my early 20s and would have been eaten alive if I'd come struttin' in here with the knowing smirk of someone who'd somehow already seen it all three years out of high school. You need to have built up a little callous or else your hide will just get tanned rather than toughened.

Regardless of age the trick is to post like you already know everything about culture. You don’t actually have to, just google anything you don’t get and pretend you knew it all along in your response. The ilx points you receive can even double with the “time bonus” feature (respond within 2 minutes with proof you “understand” the above posts in a thread). I think I realise why I lurk rather than post here is as a 26yo, I feel like I have not lived/consumed enough to participate in the dialogue.
