I like the short one.

David R. (popshots75`), Saturday, 16 November 2002 18:26 (twenty-three years ago)

bill is better cause he blew out his knee celebrating.

keith (keithmcl), Saturday, 16 November 2002 18:48 (twenty-three years ago)

keith is so OTM that I cannot take this question seriously.

felicity (felicity), Saturday, 16 November 2002 19:18 (twenty-three years ago)

Are these names real? They sound like code names for programs.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 16 November 2002 19:25 (twenty-three years ago)

All NFL players have funny names. I.T. I.S. T.H.E. L.A.W.

felicity (felicity), Saturday, 16 November 2002 19:32 (twenty-three years ago)

A Green Bay linebacker has a name so chockfull of consonance that even HE can't pronounce it right (cf. his MNF intro). It's Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila (which is pretty straight forward); he pronounced it something like Kabeer Gbarjar-Bialmamalama, which is how my friends mulch it whenever we get a li'l football punchdrunk.

David R. (popshots75`), Saturday, 16 November 2002 21:10 (twenty-three years ago)

By the way, I'm going w/ Bill, BECAUSE he learned from his bro's unfortunate mishap. Now, whenever he's jacked after kicking a 50+ yarder, he pumps his fist and celebrates with his feet planted FIRMLY on the ground. It's like watching an emu fly - brings a smile to my face every time.

David R. (popshots75`), Saturday, 16 November 2002 21:11 (twenty-three years ago)

I would also like to recognize former Dolphins punter Reggie Roby, for A) being the most deliberate punter ever and B) forming a 180 degree angle w/ his legs post-punt, and HOLDING that angle for almost one full second.

I would also like to recognize former Chiefs PA dood Nick Lowery for giving birth to the Dave Wannstedt moustache.

David R. (popshots75`), Saturday, 16 November 2002 21:13 (twenty-three years ago)

I deliberately ignore kickers because of Scott Norwood. Sorry.

My favorite NFL name is R.W. McQuarters. It sounds like the mascot for a fast food parlour.

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 16 November 2002 21:22 (twenty-three years ago)

there should be a taking sides wayne fontes vs. wade phillips.
that's fon-tez.

keith (keithmcl), Sunday, 17 November 2002 01:56 (twenty-three years ago)

I like that Jeff Feagles played for the Eagles. And felicity, Julius Peppers might have something to say about you lippin' his name, except for that he's too busy buying contraband cold medicine.

Bryan (Bryan), Sunday, 17 November 2002 01:58 (twenty-three years ago)

sorry, "Julius Peppers" is also a hilarious name for a person.

felicity (felicity), Sunday, 17 November 2002 02:01 (twenty-three years ago)

and I like how your email username follows the ILE rule of spelling words ending in "N" with "NG" (Alang, Dang, meng, womeng, Bryang)

felicity (felicity), Sunday, 17 November 2002 02:03 (twenty-three years ago)

I like names

felicity (felicity), Sunday, 17 November 2002 02:03 (twenty-three years ago)

Thangs. But does anyone know what the fucking story is with Patrick Surtain changing the pronunciation of his name? It used to be Surtain, and now it's Surtan. Someone in this bitch has to have something on that.

Bryan (Bryan), Sunday, 17 November 2002 02:10 (twenty-three years ago)

The real story behind my email username being what it is would make you puke, so I'll save it.

Bryan (Bryan), Sunday, 17 November 2002 02:11 (twenty-three years ago)

How can the additional g make a person puke? I'm intrigued now.

Julius Peppers, how could I forget him? That's a great name. See, guys like Chad Pennington and Payton Manning, they sound like they're from fucking Falcon Crest or something. They should take a hint from R.W. and Julius and pick RIDICULOUS names instead.

Ally (mlescaut), Sunday, 17 November 2002 02:41 (twenty-three years ago)

Chad Penningtong, Peytong Manningng -- yes I do feel a little nauseated . . .

By contrast, baseball players have eminently sensible names, like Coco Crisp.

felicity (felicity), Sunday, 17 November 2002 02:52 (twenty-three years ago)

That just sounds like a drag queen in a really bad downtown bar.

Ally (mlescaut), Sunday, 17 November 2002 03:23 (twenty-three years ago)

TS: Plaxico Burress vs. Delmonico "Monty" Montgomery

Kris (aqueduct), Sunday, 17 November 2002 03:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Plaxico Burress sounds like a pharmaceutical company. the "ang" part of my email username stands for Angie, which is my wife's name. It's a sunny, funny coincidence that it kinda works with my name. So cute it's making me want to spit up my onion rings.

Bryan (Bryan), Sunday, 17 November 2002 04:33 (twenty-three years ago)

I think I sent my resume to the Delmonico, Montgomery law firm. Haven't heard back yet, but wish me luck.

felicity (felicity), Sunday, 17 November 2002 05:03 (twenty-three years ago)

the saints have a receiver named onomo ojo. no mookies in the nfl.

keith (keithmcl), Sunday, 17 November 2002 05:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Ya'all are just making these people up now, right?

Ally (mlescaut), Sunday, 17 November 2002 05:19 (twenty-three years ago)

no mookies in the nfl.

nor gookies

felicity (felicity), Sunday, 17 November 2002 05:20 (twenty-three years ago)

i just saw manute bol in ice skates.

keith (keithmcl), Sunday, 17 November 2002 05:34 (twenty-three years ago)

I heard about that. It's almost as depressing a thought as LeBron James' school broadcasting his games on Pay-Per-View.

BTW, wouldn't Stubby Clapp be the perfect name for a halfback?

David R. (popshots75`), Sunday, 17 November 2002 09:09 (twenty-three years ago)

I can't be the only LeBron James skeptic can I?

James Blount (James Blount), Sunday, 17 November 2002 09:16 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm skeptical of any high school b-baller getting the amount of ass smoke this kid's getting.

David R. (popshots75`), Sunday, 17 November 2002 10:25 (twenty-three years ago)

Wait a sec - I'm going with MARTIN because of his brother. Man, I'm a dork.

David R. (popshots75`), Sunday, 17 November 2002 12:22 (twenty-three years ago)

JOSE CORTEZ FAN CLUB COME ON DOWN!
