My mom and sister have been helping out this group in Knoxville that I'm sure tipsy mothra knows about, AKIN, who just sent this letter to the head of Homeland Security. There's a lot of grim details in there about the the Knox County Sheriff's office abuse of 287(g) and also some really outrageous harassment by ICE of a UT professor who called them out for it. ICE calling up her bosses, the governor, trying to get her fired, lying about who they were.

It's totally asinine, helps nobody. I'm sure the TSA agents who aren't getting paid but are doing all the work love seeing ICE agents who ARE getting paid just wandering around. Plus having them unmasked in a place where way more people can see their faces than if they were out on a raid or whatever just underscores how much bullshit the whole masking thing is (in terms of "protecting their privacy," I know its real purpose is just intimidation).
