When I was younger, I would bring any book or magazine into the bathroom or the tub with me. Nowadays, I really only have a special selection of books that I don't care about too much that I'll take in there.

If you put the book down before wiping, wash your hands, then pick it up again, then it’s no problem surely? If you wanted to be careful you could wipe the plastic cover with a Milton wipe or something, I suppose. I have a kid so I assume everything is covered in shit anyway
