Minnesota icon, a great comedian, by everything I've heard just a sweetheart of a guy. Glad he got to have a career renaissance with Baskets.

Will be missed.

A great presence. Was randomly thinking of him the other week when a family rewatch of said film over the holidays made me realize "Hey, that's him as the delivery guy on the right!"

my gf did comedy pretty serious for a long time until covid, got to the level of opening for some well known comics and got to know him. she is really sad today, I guess he was the sweetest, no one had a bad word to say about Louie which in the comedy world is rare

#RIP the sweet Louie Anderson. Mentored by Henny Youngman, he said he always tried to “laugh with my audience. I try to say, ‘Hey, aren’t we all pathetic?’ … That’s the Richard Pryor effect. If you’re honest enough about it all, it’s really rewarding.” https://t.co/lqZrOHctoo

Louie Anderson once blew 80 grand, all his money, gambling in LA, then rented a car, drove to Vegas in the middle of the night and used a casino line of credit to win it all back in the pit by sunup, caught a 7am flight and went straight to shoot a 7-11 commercial.
Requiescat.🎈

Louie Anderson was so funny and had such a big heart.

This is an interview he did a couple of years ago that I still think about all the time. We need to give people more reasons to twirl. pic.twitter.com/fqNHO0B4xK
