Pauly Shore is the most blatant case of this.

Nicole (Nicole), Tuesday, 19 November 2002 05:01 (twenty-three years ago)

freddy prinze, jr. (though he really isn't a comedian, is he?)

Tad (llamasfur), Tuesday, 19 November 2002 05:05 (twenty-three years ago)

He's a tragic clown, so in a sense he is.

I never understood why the rest of the cast of the Carol Burnett Show thought Tim Conway was so hysterical. They'd always burst out laughing at him in the middle of skits and he was NEVER funny.

Arthur (Arthur), Tuesday, 19 November 2002 05:25 (twenty-three years ago)

i think that tim conway is one of those "so-painfully-unfunny-he's-funny" types.

harvey korman was the only funny one on that show ... then again, i was a little kid and easily amused when Carol Burnett had a show.

Tad (llamasfur), Tuesday, 19 November 2002 05:27 (twenty-three years ago)

and who is the famous person/parent Drew Carrey knows? he's definitely the most unfunny person around (except Robin Williams, no-one is as unfunny as Robin Williams).

Tad (llamasfur), Tuesday, 19 November 2002 05:30 (twenty-three years ago)

his friends are funny (Ryan Stiles, Greg Proops, etc etc etc)

chaki (chaki), Tuesday, 19 November 2002 05:33 (twenty-three years ago)

Tim Conway was tolerable on McHale's Navy, plus that movie he made with Don Knotts was pure gold

James Blount (James Blount), Tuesday, 19 November 2002 05:34 (twenty-three years ago)

David Cross isn't funny??

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 19 November 2002 05:37 (twenty-three years ago)

nope.

chaki (chaki), Tuesday, 19 November 2002 05:40 (twenty-three years ago)

kirk douglas' son....
(not michael, the other one)
is a bad standup comedian. he had been touring in england, it wasn't going so well. finally he turns on his audience:

"fuck you - you know who i am? i'm kirk douglas' son"

a guy in the audience stands up and says "no, i'm kirk douglas' son!"
a second guy stands up "no, i'm kirk douglas' son!" and so on.

minna (minna), Tuesday, 19 November 2002 07:04 (twenty-three years ago)

(guess he doesn't really qualify for this thread tho because i can't even remember his name)

minna (minna), Tuesday, 19 November 2002 07:05 (twenty-three years ago)

I actually laugh at David Cross but I do it with caution cause he is so clearly the male Janeane Garofalo which means in five years I'll have to put up with him whining on Conan about how radio needs to play underground bands like the Strokes more.

James Blount (James Blount), Tuesday, 19 November 2002 07:26 (twenty-three years ago)

His record's on Sub Pop for Chris'sake

James Blount (James Blount), Tuesday, 19 November 2002 07:27 (twenty-three years ago)

which makes him REALLY unfunny

chaki (chaki), Tuesday, 19 November 2002 07:34 (twenty-three years ago)

It's weird - I know he knows Henry Ownings and I'da thought Henry woulda clued him in.

James Blount (James Blount), Tuesday, 19 November 2002 07:42 (twenty-three years ago)

(Rah. More people not on that bandwagon!)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 19 November 2002 11:52 (twenty-three years ago)

I thought the Ben Stiller Show on Fox was one of the funniest televison programs I'd ever seen.

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Tuesday, 19 November 2002 13:32 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh dear god, they made a film of Ronnie Dobbs from Mr. Show! And it opened once, in the Sundance Festival. Hahahahahhaha.
