Voted for Thunder Hill in Columbia, Maryland because I'm a hometown boy and think every city should have their neighborhoods named after artists and things. I never spent any time in that particular neighborhood. Cool name though.

I went on a field trip to the Brandywine Museum in Chadd's Ford in 5th grade. I remember being very bored by the artwork and it was the longest field trip I had ever taken. I think I might appreciate his art more nowadays, although I admit to not having an art historical context. For example, I just went to look him up and several of the works that I had thought of as being Wyeth's turned out to be Winslow Homer, who was not even in the same century as Wyeth.

I grew up around five minutes from his house and would sometimes see him around, so have something of a sentimental attachment.

Did the PBS thing not mention the "Christina's World" nod in "Inglorious Basterds"?

I'm hardly an art expert, but I love "Christina's World," and had it on a slide-show I used to use teaching art in grade school. What I especially like is how out of step it was with all the abstract expressionism starting to take hold at the time.

I assume his style probably trickled down from his dad, right?
