waking up at 4am to see shooting stars

so, did anyone watch the leonids last night? i did -- i was freezing and i'm wearing the same clothes to work that i did yesterday (well ok, just the sweater) on about 3 hours sleep, but it was such fun trying to spot the shooting stars. there were so many of them!

Shoulda done that, sigh. And I was such an astronomy buff too when younger! All my housemates went out to the desert for precisely that, and to dance all night of course.

Went out to my usual spot on the San Andreas Fault where it crosses Cajon Pass and saw about 80 meteors in 40 minutes. The full moon drowned out the fainter ones, but it was a pretty good show
