THE HORROR

There is a large paint chip just about right above my head where I have my computer in my slum-hell apartment. Lately there has been a squeaking noise emanating from the nasty corroded wall somewhere underneath that paint chip, definitely made by something ALIVE. It doesn't sound like a mouse though, more like some very loud insect (not a cricket either). I've tried taking a vacuum to the area behind the chip, but it doesn't get whatever it is. I don't dare break the paint chip down to look behind it because: a) I'm afraid of what I'll find, and b) the chip is so large I'm afraid my landlord won't give me my deposit back if he sees the large spot on the ceiling where the chip used to be.

I have seen bugs in this ancient house that are unlike anything I've ever seen in my life, more crustacean than insect. They're about 2.5 inches long, and have about 50 legs; but not puny centi/millipede legs but BIG powerful looking legs, as if the thing might be able to JUMP a significant distance. I'm hypothesizing that whatever is in the wall under that paint chip is like the MOTHER BUG, and I will be sorry if I ever meet it.

AARGH.

Maybe the spider is slowly eating a mouse.

I've already told the story about birds in the walls of a house I lived in as a preteen.

Right now, my bedroom cieling has a large crack in it that basically becomes a waterfall when it rains.

Regarding the bugs that are more crustacean than insect: could they possibly be these?
