Irish Setter, also because my childhood dog was a crazy one called Dylan.

Bird hunting dogs, all of 'em. They tend to be highly energetic breeds with high strung nerves. All kinda dud unless you're a bird hunter or have the time and energy to run them ragged every day.

they all suit me perfectly then, it's not that much of a travail taking a dog for a few miles of walk every day if you enjoy walking you know!

Never heard of the clumber spaniel before but they’re ugly-cute enough to earn my vote.

Yeah it's Irish setter for me. Grew up with one and my boy has some red-&-white in him. He is high energy, & I think it's that working dog blood, but - as Calzino says - I like the walks (keep me sane tbh) and it is a joy to watch him run like a cheerful maniac in the parks of SE13.

the two pointers i know seem like amazing dogs but their energy and hyper-focus… yes I feel like I'd be letting them down every day.

I just call chesapeake bay retrievers - chocolate labs and that would be my next vote if I had another because they are so handsome.

The Labrador Retriever was recognized as a breed by the AKC in 1917. The color variations they acknowledge are black, chocolate, and yellow.

there seems to be some curliness you don't often see in most chocolate labs, but what wonderful looking creatures they are!

have known two cocker spaniels and both were completely unhinged

they are very good at murdering squirrels and seemingly never running out of energy. I like and admire them from a distance but never felt tempted to adopt one.

there is this fucked up war vet who served in Afghanistan I frequently chat to with a really beautiful cocker spaniel who he has quite imaginatively named Cocker. The energy levels of this dog are unbelievable, I can be chatting to him for an hour and his dog never stops.

My black lab is absolutely knackered whenever he has been running with this dog for even half an hour, he practically goes into a coma when I bring him home.
