break it down thusly

falcons are always more thrilling to glimpse. they're not even taxonomically closely related to the classic hawk/eagle/buzzard bird of prey; they're much more about the thrill of the chase, the wondrous flight-mechanics of the avian world pushed as far as they can possibly go. fighters vs bombers, top gun versus memphis belle. that said, a few of the hawks (sparrowhawks for example) have developed pretty agile methods of their own. convergent evolution and all that.

buzzards otoh are current-soarers. lazybones who nonetheless take grandiose toll of convection. their ascent is stately and seemingly pointless; wonderful to watch unfold. ofc they're simply taking advantage of the insane evolutionary adaptation of their side of the taxonomy tree: eyesight. less obvious to the outside observer than the falcons' flight skillz but those fuckers see everything, from miles away too, be it prey, carrion or other buzzards. and at their own sweet speed they'll come back down for it.

in summary? score draw. don't fucking poison birds of prey
