honestly there could be a thread just for the amazing popsicles at H-Marthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOjWUS5yi5E
recently picked up a bottle of Flying Horse brand Sweet Chili Sauce. it's much bigger and better than the one i recently finished, and at the rate i use it should last about 3 years.

We donthve H Mart in Aus but theres plenty of similar Korean marts. I will stan for S&B Golden Curry cubes forever.

(Though TBF theyre japanese)
@Trayce: S&B is the only instant curry manufacturer that opens and operates their own spice farms so they have always been my go-to.
Back to the topic at hand: whatever loss-leader H-Mart is using to drive traffic in is my go-to. Last week was LA-cut kalbi that was $5.99 a pound. Pretty nice marbling, esp. at that price.

My annual or semi-annual trips to ATL, which always included a stop at H-Mart, were curtailed by the pandemic. Looking forward to the next one at the end of this month.

fun fact: S&B comes from “Spice & herB”

I am envious of easy H-Mart access.
I bought some S&B cubes but have never used them! How do I shot

i've only made kare raisu with the cubes. you just mince a cube or two and add them in the last few mins.
they taste great, especially with add ins like worcestershire sauce, grated apples and ketchup. only drawback is they leave an oily film on the veggies.
what i really like about the powder is you can get more creative with it. i use it in all kinds of stuff. i particularly like it as a substitution for garam masala in curries with coconut cream.

oh i think i made a lentil stew with the cubes recently that ended up in tacos with fiesta slaw and avocado.

D: overpriced produce in lots of plastic waste
although the last time i got dou miao in Chinatown it was disappointingly inferior to the dou miao at H-Mart, what's up with that?

search the 50 lb sack of onions my friend got there for $5
destroy his basement a few months later when he discovered the stinking sludge of 50 lbs of forgotten rotting onions
but for real their produce section is 💯💯💯 that ginger is outrageous cheap, & so many varieties of baby bok choi (like... at least two) & they're the only place i've found those wonderful oro blanco grapefruits
also search that good brand of loose leaf thai tea they used to have, like actually please help me search for it for real because now they carry a different brand instead and it isn't as good, it's just gritty black tea + orange dye instead of that rich vanilla-anise-pipe tobacco ambrosia

The massive variety of sauces at H-Mart often overwhelms me. It would be great if someone in the know could say "this brand of X sauce is the one to go with."

There's three H Marts in London, including a big supermarket in New Malden which looks amazing but since it's London I don't have a car and my big shop gets delivered (and they don't deliver I don't think).
More common here tho is the Oseyo chain, which has plenty of frozen foods, bento, pastries, candy, noodles, etc. Only thing I've consistently failed to find there is Korean pear for cold noodles but Longdan asian grocery store has that.
I wonder if some intrepid youtuber has made a comparison video for the two brands to see if it's worth my time hitting H Mart.
