I'm going down to visit a friend who has just moved down there, was just curious if anyone knew of any decent pubs. He lives in the Almondbury area if that helps. Any help is greatly appreciated. :)

Its a long time since I lived in Huddersfield fractal but The Rat + Ratchet in the town centre used to be worth a visit - close to the site of the legendary Sex Pistols Xmas kiddies party. Almondbury I don't know that well. Lovely view over the town and moors from the pub on Castle Hill of course (though thats all its got going for it). Personal fave The Slubbers Arms in Fartown, is some distance away.

The Coach House? (I may have just made that up)

The one opposite the uni.

Castle hill pretty impressive too, worth a drive. (Big pub on top of big man-made hill - on the way to Wakefield)

its a first overground bus so i wouldnt have thought so. as its "the brown line" i presume its got a brown stripe down it, which would clash nicely with the indigo and pink of firsts colours
