What is your preferred wiping technique? Circular? Horizontal? Vertical?

On a screen-wiping binge; can't seem to find consensus what's the best way to do it, other than use a little bit of water (but not too much!) and apply a little bit of pressure (but not too much! Especially screens with oleophobic coating that you could wipe right off)

If I go horizontal, I'll often get horizontal streaks; circular, get circular streaks. What to do?

You just gotta really spray it. Wiping too hard creates fissures on the surface. Keeps it looking great so if you ever want to open it up and show anyone they'll be amazed at house smooth and shiny it is.

definitely want to make sure to take a first, conservative runthrough, to avoid damage to a sensitive area. bringing in another party to help often provides the second set of eyes and hands that make the process easier.

there are different schools of thought in different regions, as well - some of my colleagues abroad think my techniques leave things filthy

It's crazy sometimes it looks great but then you feel it and realize how gritty it is

At the end of the day if your partner is complaining about streaks you're just not wiping good enough, regardless of the direction.

I was taught a very specific wipe at an early age and things weren't sparkly clean but nobody ever complained. then went on a business trip to Southeast Asia and I showed three colleagues and they recoiled. one said "do you have no sense of pride?" and offered to retrain me.

What are you talking about? I keep mine clean because I've got a constant stream of shit coming through that thing but I'm sort of addicted. The rabbit hole's deep. Anyway I barely ever show anyone unless there's something really impressive that practically bursts out, know what I mean? Like something totally sick that you have to be like "check this shit out". Though I let my mom look during the crowning in England.
