Welsh flag and horrid name should have been a dead giveaway, but I'm slightly pished tonight.

David Soul was a guy who had a lot of acting chops. Weirdly my first exposure to him was as one-half of a psychotic bank robbing duo in the TV film In the Line of Duty: The FBI Murders. The other psycho was Michael Gross! They were both superb and the final shootout is genuinely intense and bleak.

He was all over a lot of Laswell/Material albums I had.

He seemed to play Washington about once a year, and saw him just this last March. Didn’t know he had a chronic disease. It was quite an energetic show!

Losing both your parents in one week is going to be traumatic no matter how old they are. I had a coworker whose mom had a heart attack at home and her father had one when he saw the mom in the hospital. Heartbreak heart attacks are a thing. That coworker had to be in grief therapy for years as a result.

This almost happened when my dad dropped dead of a heart attack and his wife had one when she discovered him about an hour later. My sister and I were treated appallingly by said wife (and my dad never stood up for us) so when my sister phoned to tell me what had happened, she framed it as bad news/good news…

I didn't mean to be insensitive and I obviously don't want Conan & his siblings to suffer immense grief, but there's something kind of poignant as well with these end of life 'matched' deaths.. i.e. 's/he was waiting for him/her to go first'
Seems like it plays out all the time like this, sometimes just days (or even hours) apart

my family's the opposite, the survivor almost always lives for an eternity after their spouse passes away...on both my parents' sides.
