My plans are not going to work out. Suggestions?

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 22 November 2002 20:38 (twenty-three years ago)

Piss off and listen to Pulp.

donut bitch (donut), Friday, 22 November 2002 20:40 (twenty-three years ago)

;-)

donut bitch (donut), Friday, 22 November 2002 20:40 (twenty-three years ago)

(humongous inside joke that maybe I shouldn't have posted... if moderators see fit to delete, please do so... apologies)

donut bitch (donut), Friday, 22 November 2002 20:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Good grief, DB. Shall we have an argument about whether a Stereolab/Mouse on Mars jam session constitutes a song or not next? ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 22 November 2002 20:53 (twenty-three years ago)

OK if that was the post that you are talking about in the should I stay or should I go thread, then I'm very worried. Is anyone really pissed off about that?

Anyway can I have some proper suggs before I leave work at 5:30? I am KEEN ON ANYTHING that is not too involved as I am sick but I can't be cooped up. If I don't get suggestions, I will go to Tea Ren in Chinatown, then United Colors of Benneton on Astor Place and THAT IS NOT EXCITING OR GLAMOROUS.

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 22 November 2002 21:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I won't, um, name names.. but some here took it the wrong way and let me know clearly and quickly

donut bitch (donut), Friday, 22 November 2002 21:03 (twenty-three years ago)

I HAVE DEFENDERS??? Ally in falling dead of people being nice to her shockah!

Everyone it's all good! NOW TELL ME WHAT TO DO SERIOUSLY, I will take all suggestions!

Ally (mlescaut), Friday, 22 November 2002 21:04 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm going to see Bryan Ferry! Then going to Fake at the Cat Club! To meet this cutie-pie young indie rock kid! Yay!

Sean (Sean), Friday, 22 November 2002 21:21 (twenty-three years ago)

I'd tell you to go to my old favourite bars and have a drink, but they've probably all closed, or gone out of style or become hideously trendy or something. :-( Me, I'm staying home, listening to French Kicks and trying to rest cause I know I'm getting no sleep on this leg of the tour.

kate, Friday, 22 November 2002 21:30 (twenty-three years ago)

Go to see the Bond movie. I'm heading out to see it in a bit, then out to get drunk. I don't have any NYC bar suggestions, though, I haven't been there in years. :- (

lyra (lyra), Friday, 22 November 2002 22:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Call me! (I won't be home tomorrow night, I just found out)

Justyn Dillingham (Justyn Dillingham), Saturday, 23 November 2002 02:51 (twenty-three years ago)

It's 5AM and Ally is still going, no end in sight! If this is Ally on an off night I fear for NYC when her health returns.

Next time she asks please suggest the following: curl up with a good book...

Mary (Mary), Saturday, 23 November 2002 09:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Mary, you ILX whore, rushing home to post online!

What I did end up doing: Forcing bnw and Mary to hang out ALL NITE in a bar after watching PUnch Drunk Love. I made "friends" with the staff who let us stay for a while. One of them wanted to come to my house, which I said ok to, which is when Mary ditched us. bnw and myself promptly ran out on the guy while h ewas buying beers.

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 23 November 2002 10:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Cor! you're up late, miss.

Ed (dali), Saturday, 23 November 2002 10:37 (twenty-three years ago)

It's 6:30 - it's early!

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 23 November 2002 11:21 (twenty-three years ago)

But did you sleep in between?

Ed (dali), Saturday, 23 November 2002 11:30 (twenty-three years ago)

No, I just got home.

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 23 November 2002 11:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Where'd you go in the end?

Ed (dali), Saturday, 23 November 2002 11:35 (twenty-three years ago)

First we went to 2nd Ave Deli, then the cinema. Then the Lakeside Lounge. We did the LES thing, you know.

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 23 November 2002 11:37 (twenty-three years ago)

What's the whole 'LES thing'?

Ed (dali), Saturday, 23 November 2002 11:39 (twenty-three years ago)

Typical ILX NYC night out. We end up somewhere within reasonable walking distance of Around the Clock diner. I don't know how this keeps happening but we end up in the same places.

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 23 November 2002 11:42 (twenty-three years ago)

I'll have to shake things up when I come to NYC next. Hell,
I don't even know where the around the clock diner is. Could have been there, I don't think I've clocked the names of more than two NYC diners I've ever been it.

Ed (dali), Saturday, 23 November 2002 11:50 (twenty-three years ago)

Haha, exactly. If you remember the names, then there's something seriously wrong with your night out.

Ally (mlescaut), Saturday, 23 November 2002 12:16 (twenty-three years ago)

The Lakeside Lounge ... the Around The Clock Diner ... aw, GOD, you are making me SOOOOOOO fucking homesick I could cry right now. But no, I've got to go get in a van and drive to Birmingham. Jeesus. Rhum Rhunners, here we come...

kate, Saturday, 23 November 2002 12:30 (twenty-three years ago)

I remember the deluxe cos I has lunch on 9/12 there, breakfast was at Tom's a few doors down. Everything was fucking weird. Kate told me that the Court Square was what it was from the description. All others are a blur of leatherette and frying smells.

Ed (dali), Saturday, 23 November 2002 12:34 (twenty-three years ago)

I am going to Slough tonight, how nice

DG (D_To_The_G), Saturday, 23 November 2002 15:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Come friendly ILXers and fall on Slough, etc.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 23 November 2002 15:31 (twenty-three years ago)

"One of them wanted to come to my house, which I said ok to, which is when Mary ditched us. bnw and myself promptly ran out on the guy while h ewas buying beers."

Wha?? Wouldn't it have just been easier to say no thank you to the cab ride home??

To clarify, I didn't ditch, I merely began to walk home, so that I could begin whorish ILXposting...

The potato pancakes with apple sauce at the 2nd Avenue Deli were ace! Ally, you forgot to mention the best part of the evening: the tapioca tea and coffee drinks at St. Alp's Tea House.

Mary (Mary), Saturday, 23 November 2002 22:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Slough's okay, I mean, it's West. West is best.

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 23 November 2002 22:19 (twenty-three years ago)

i thought it was saint's alp

ron (ron), Saturday, 23 November 2002 22:27 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh right their mistake (and mine)...

Mary (Mary), Saturday, 23 November 2002 22:46 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah that's a goofy name

ron (ron), Saturday, 23 November 2002 23:42 (twenty-three years ago)

I forgot the bubble drinks! How could I forget the bubble drinks! Arrgh. I had another one tonight, at Tea Ren which I found out is actually called TEN Ren. Also, I realized I must've been on some powerful drugs the night I thought Saint's Alp and Ten Ren were "next door" to each other - they're like a 40 minute walk apart. I ended up back there tonight, in 8th Street Lab which is where we need to go at some point during the next FAP. It's a punk-goth-college-stoodent store and the guys there kept asking me to try on the red mesh shirt I bought. Then they offered me 5% off if I danced to their music. They were the coolest people of tonight, except for the guy in the subway who walked up to me and said, "I need to be 59 feet from you. You are the enemy of man." I mean, I know I look bad tonight but that was kind of terrible.
