naked as sin (naked as sin), Saturday, 23 November 2002 00:19 (twenty-three years ago)

If you mean TV Burp, I thought it was sort of entertaining/diverting, but it has little of the originality and brilliance of his best work. It seems an easy format - take the piss out of the week's TV - and I quite enjoy it, but it is hardly going to be among the highlights of what I think will be a long and enjoyable TV career.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 23 November 2002 00:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Passions
bad midday movies about gymnasts overcoming various eating disorders, that always star that freaky violin playing girl from the freaky sitcom with the freaky girl with the freaky squinty eyes...neve somtehing.
bad sunday night films that always seem to star Ashley Judd
Queer As Folk, the american one.. I know it's bad but it's *compelling*

is CNNNN anything like frontline?

di smith (lucylurex), Monday, 25 November 2002 00:44 (twenty-three years ago)

hmmmm yes and no. it's more taking the piss out of current affairs in general rather than the stupidity of the people behind the news..

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Monday, 25 November 2002 00:47 (twenty-three years ago)

Elisabeth (Elisabeth), Monday, 25 November 2002 01:36 (twenty-three years ago)

No one else has seen Curb Your Enthusiasm??? The creator of Seinfeld plays himself.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 25 November 2002 01:47 (twenty-three years ago)

my back

man, Monday, 25 November 2002 01:51 (twenty-three years ago)

why is seinfeld supposed to be good? for a start it has that annoying slap-bass sound every 0.5 seconds. I could go on but that is enough reason to loathe it.

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 25 November 2002 02:21 (twenty-three years ago)

the slap bass is the best bit!

gareth (gareth), Monday, 25 November 2002 02:23 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm not much into Seinfeld myself (although I tend to sit through it occasionally). But I swear to you, Curb Your Enthusiasm is in a completely different class.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 25 November 2002 02:24 (twenty-three years ago)

not if you only ever watch telly after midnight and don't want to wake people up - slap bass is even more annoying than a laugh track. Also - i honestly don't get the jokes. I don't see why this should be rated more than that two dudes and a pizza chick show.

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 25 November 2002 02:26 (twenty-three years ago)

Please don't say that.

naked as sin (naked as sin), Monday, 25 November 2002 02:38 (twenty-three years ago)

really. why is it funny? someone please! I need to be TOLD what to laugh at. maybe the humour's just too sahfisticayted.

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 25 November 2002 02:41 (twenty-three years ago)

well the characters' hatred of each other is one source of chuckles, jerry's dress sense...

naked as sin (naked as sin), Monday, 25 November 2002 02:56 (twenty-three years ago)

how kramer enters rooms

naked as sin (naked as sin), Monday, 25 November 2002 02:58 (twenty-three years ago)

well why doesn't kramer just enter the room with a chainsaw and whip larry's neck in two then? Now THAT would be a show worth watching.

dog latin (dog latin), Monday, 25 November 2002 03:21 (twenty-three years ago)

gilmore girls, angel, larry sanders reruns although they lose something int he transition to broadcast tv, nova, i watch enterprise when it reruns here on sunday nights. i don't have cable or i would eb watching the hitler channel i mean history and discovery and tlc. my parents have direct tv so i will catch up then.

you can't handle the truth!, you're no truth handler you, I deride your truth handling abilities!- Sideshow Bob

Thanks Nellie -- I'd forgotten where that came from! it's one of those things that slips into friends' "pool of catchphrases" and then you forget the source.

Vinnie (vprabhu), Monday, 25 November 2002 20:20 (twenty-three years ago)

the news, any music show thats on, documentary shows, teletubbies (i have a baby here ok! ),csi, and last night i watched the american version of 'frontier house' o dear those people didnt come across as coping so well, all the community spirit that had been forecast disappeared before they even began!
most of the shows i used to really like have run their course and are no longer on :-( ie: simpsons ( though i think its on and i miss it somehow ), this life, 6 ft under, cold feet, sopranos might be on but i never seem to catch it.
