Nahum,Malachi,Habukukuk(sp) etc- am writing term paper on nahum, and have found v. little resources, reminded of how poetic and plemic most of them are, how wonderfully gory, and how hot to trot-(ie the whores and harlots)-abrahamix tend to forget how nasty much of the bible is and this reminds me that G-d can be angry & caprcious. Also describe these chapters as veggie tales.

If you like that, you'll love this!

'Moloch was represented as a huge bronze statue with the head of a bull. The statue was hollow, and inside there burned a fire which colored the Moloch a glowing red. Children were placed on the hands of the statue. Through an ingenious system the hands were raised to the mouth (as if Moloch were eating) and the children fell into the fire where they were consumed by the flames. The people gathered before the Moloch were dancing on the sounds of flutes and tambourines to drown out the screams of the victims.'

That groovy Satan can be angrier and capriciouser (sp.)!

you can. That passage comes from a completely lunatic website called The Tribulation Force. I wouldn't use anything from it in a term paper, but it's good for a laugh. Scroll to the bottom of the (very lurid) page and click on Baal, Moloch, etc.

Berryman did some translations, I think they're in the complete poems minus the Dream Songs - pretty good stuff

I think everyone should go to that Trib Force site (I think the borrowed the term from that Left Behind series) just for the bizarrely bad music.
