Cringe Conservative Media

Do we have a thread for this? There's a lot of it and it's very, very bad. Sometimes I run across this stuff when looking for something completely unrelated, and my first reaction is always "God, this is terrible. Who enjoys this stuff?" Today, for instance, I was looking for footage of an old CGA DOS side scroller to show off how terrible DOS side scrolling was before Commander Keen and what came up was, bizarrely, this anti-"woke" gaming channel called "Side Scrollers". The titles and thumbnails were SO BAD. Stuff like "This game controller will trigger the anti-woke mob!" Like as a presumed member of "the anti-woke mob" I personally don't, uh, give a lot of time and thought to game controllers. I own one, it _has_ triggers I guess, and that's pretty much all the thought I give to the topic. If other people are upset by it, I guess they probably have good reasons for it. I don't see any reason I should care enough to be upset by a video game controller.

Then there's another video which is apparently gaming is ruined because instead of cute cartoon mascots we have trans women in wheelchairs. I mean it's one thing to valorize CoD or whatever, but like...

One, Maddie from Celeste is heckin' cute. She's cute and the game is a lot of fun to play while still being an incredibly challenging platformer.

Two, look. I'm sorry, look, we're talking about a genre includes Sonic the Hedgehog, a video game where instead of killing bad guys you stomp on them to turn them into their original cute animal form, BECAUSE SUPER MARIO BROTHRES WAS TOO VIOLENT. Cartoon platformers are not exactly historically a bastion of anti-woke resistance.

I was also talking in the Masculinity thread about Black Rifle Coffee Company, which is an "anti-woke" coffee brand which is... they had this, I don't know, _berry cappuccino_ in a can and the threw the American flag and an eagle on it. Like you're not fooling anybody. I don't care of you put the Punisher skull on your quiche, it's still quiche. Quiche is delicious. You should eat quiche, unless you have some kind of dairy allergy or you're vegan or something. (If you're vegan and you want to oppose the "woke mob", God help you.) Conservatives will not look at you eating quiche and say "Oh, that's cool, it's ANTI-WOKE quiche". They will make fun of you for eating quiche. Hate to be the one to have to tell you this.

Part of Black Rifle's marketing angle is they are veteran-owned and(?) give preference to hiring veterans, inspired in toto by Starbucks getting in the news because they started a diversity initiative and conservatives felt that those jobs should've been earmarked for veterans because tof course the first thing a returning grunt from Iraq wants to do is serve Karens & Chads gourmet coffees and pastries.

you know what a lot of this reminds me of? MSMs. now, look, i'm not really too familiar with why people identify as MSMs. are there reasons people do that _besides_ internalized homophobia? "oh, i'm not gay, i'm just a man who has sex with men, i'm not down with the Queer Agenda". i just can't wrap my head around why it would be so important to someone that they be _not gay_.

Nothing that idiots and monsters say can make me cringe. People who believe they represent goodness and morality on the other hand
