The US military is deeply, madly in love with any technology that allows them to kill human beings enemies and destroy things with minimal or no risk to their own soldiers human assets. They know that US casualties make wars military operations unpopular with US citizens, but massively expensive weapons military hardware like stealth bombers, cruise missiles, or killer robot dogs, just fatten up the death merchants defense industries and their shareholders.
